This Privacy Policy describes how VidLocalizer ("we", "our", "the Company") collects, uses, stores and protects the personal data of users of the VidLocalizer software and this website.

By using our app or website you agree to the terms of this Policy. If you disagree with any part of it, please stop using our services.

1. What data we collect

1.1. Account data

When registering for VidLocalizer we collect the following data:

• Email address — to create your account, send notifications and contact you regarding support and billing.
• Username — optional, used to personalize the interface.
• Registration date — for account history purposes.
• Subscription details — plan type, sign-up date, payment status.

1.2. YouTube account data

To function, VidLocalizer requires access to your YouTube account via Google OAuth 2.0. We obtain the following data:

• Channel video list — titles, descriptions, video IDs, used for display within the app and to process translations.
• Video subtitles — to perform YouTube subtitle translation.
• Video metadata — title, description, tags — to perform localization.
• OAuth access token — a temporary token used to interact with the YouTube API on your behalf. The token is stored locally on your device and is never shared with third parties.

We do not collect or store: your Google password, YouTube monetization financial data, private messages, or subscriber data.

1.3. Technical data

During use of the app and website the following data is collected automatically:

• IP address — for security and fraud prevention.
• Operating system type and app version — for technical support purposes.
• Error logs — for diagnosing and improving the app.
• Feature usage statistics — in anonymized form, to improve the product.

1.4. Payment data

Subscription payments are processed via secure third-party payment systems (Stripe, PayPal). We do not store card details on our servers. All transactions are conducted over encrypted channels in compliance with the PCI DSS standard.

2. How we use your data

Collected data is used exclusively for:

• Providing the YouTube video translation service — translating subtitles, titles and descriptions and uploading them to YouTube.
• Managing your account and subscription.
• Sending notifications when video processing is complete.
• Technical support when you contact our support team.
• Improving translation quality and app functionality.
• Sending informational emails about new features and updates (opt-out available).
• Complying with applicable legal requirements.

3. Sharing data with third parties

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.

Limited data sharing occurs only in the following cases:

• Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) — only the data necessary to process payments.
• AI translation services — video text (subtitles, titles, descriptions) is sent to perform translation. This data is not used to train AI models without your explicit consent.
• YouTube API (Google LLC) — interaction with YouTube Studio to upload finished translations.
• Law enforcement agencies — only upon a lawful request in accordance with applicable law.

4. Data security

The following measures are applied to protect your data:

• Encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256).
• Passwords stored as hashes (bcrypt).
• Two-factor authentication for server access.
• Regular security audits and penetration testing.
• YouTube OAuth tokens stored only on your local device.
• Employee access to data is restricted per the principle of least privilege.

5. Data retention

Account data is retained for the duration of your active subscription plus 90 days after it ends — to allow for potential account recovery.

Processed translations (subtitle text, titles, descriptions) are stored on our servers for 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted.

Upon account deletion, all your data is removed within 14 business days, except for data that must be retained by law.

Our website uses the following types of cookies:

Essential cookies

Required for the site to function: session cookies for authentication, CSRF protection. These cookies cannot be disabled.

Analytics cookies

Used to understand how visitors interact with the site (e.g. Google Analytics). Data is collected anonymously. You may opt out of these cookies.

8. Children

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
